ideas, innovations and apps for social work in the age of smartphones and social media
Skills for Care and Development, the Sector Skills Council for Employers in Early Years, Children and Young People’s services, and those working in Social Work and Social Care for adults and children in the UK has published its first app for the iPad. Getting Started with Mobile is an e-publication for employers in the sector to help them make the most of mobile learning or m-learning technologies.
It’s the first of 28 resources that Skills for Care and Development will produce with employers as part of a project co-funded by the Employer Investment Fund (with the UK Commission for Employment and Skills).

The Chair of Skills for Care and Development, Professor David Croisdale-Appleby OBE said:
“Employers in our sector want to make better use of technology to deliver better quality and more efficient care and support services. This new app will help them to put learning into the hands of their workforce, when they need it, where they need it.”
