How To Develop A Mental Health App – My Journey [VIDEO]

My Journey – an mental health app for young people – has been mentioned here before. Recently Sarah Amani shared her experience of the development of that app in a post at INNOVATIONLABS. She explains which professions had been involved in the development and what the guiding questions were that helped them to stay focused:

  • What is the overall aim of the app?
  • Who will use it?
  • Why would this person or group of people choose to use this app?
  • What will be the benefits and what might be the unintended consequences of using the app?

One of the things she emphasizes to keep in mind while developing an app is to test it while building, not just at the end. So the team involved young people for test drives of the app.
