ideas, innovations and apps for social work in the age of smartphones and social media
The objective of Mobile Social Work is to create an easy to read magazine to share ideas, innovations and apps for social work in the age of smartphones and social media. Therefor the focus is on curating other publications to create a framework for professionals in social work that enables them to stay up to date with social work related aspects of mobile technology and social media.
The focus is on curating. Hence most of the content (text, images, videos) is created by other authors. The delineation between legal and illegal, fair and unfair or ethical and unethical curation is not completely clear. Taking a quote from Pawan Deshpande the curator tries to stick to “Create, curate, but never pirate!”. If any of the authors feels his/her copyright violated please get in contact with the curator, because this is not what is aimed at. On the contrary the curator’s wish is that this noncommercial magazine will support the authors by promoting their content and linking to their websites.

I’m a blind canadian and I have to say this is a great humanitarian blog. I’m involved with some international human rights activities also, and this place is great for learning about others.
Thank you 🙂
I appreciate your forward thinking in how social work can adapt to their populations with the new technology tools offered. I believe social workers are hesitant to utilize technology and your information will minimize fear.
I am so happy I came across this blog! I am a social worker in education and I work with special needs students everyday. I am excited about the resources you post, especially in technology!
Thank you.
